Beyoncé and Jay-Z today surprised fans by sharing the first pictures of their baby, Blue Ivy Carter.
The proud parents posted a series of intimate portraits of their beloved daughter, who was born just over a month ago.
Instead of selling their first baby pictures to a glossy magazine for millions the music megastar couple decided to take control posting snaps of Blue to a tumblr blog.
In one snap the 30-year-old singer is seen beaming into the camera while she cradles her daughter in her arms.
While the camera is out of focus on the former Destiny's Child singer, with clarity on baby Blue, Beyoncé's blue nails can be clearly seen, no doubt a tribute to her little bundle.
The proud parents set up a blog that shows the intimate family snaps along with a message.
It read: 'We welcome you to share in our joy. Thank you for respecting our privacy during this beautiful time in our lives. The Carter Family.'

Beyoncé and Jay-Z 'trademark Blue Ivy's name'

She appeared on her father's single at just a few hours old, so it comes as no surprise that Beyoncé and Jay-Z's daughter Blue Ivy is a brand in the making.
According to reports in the US, the new parents have moved to trademark their one-month-old baby's name.
The power-couple have filed an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to protect Blue Ivy's name against others using it.

Jay-Z Has To Reject NBA Players From The VIP

Because of the NBA lockout owners or coaches can't communicate with the players. It makes for a pretty dicey situation. No communication, fraternizing, etc. If you do, you risk a fine that could run $500,000.

New Jersey Nets part owner Jay-Z knew this so at a recent GQ party in Los Angeles, Jay had to turn away a posse of NBA players wanting to chat with him in the VIP party room. Carmelo Anthony, Blake Griffin, Andre Iguodala, Russell Westbrook, JaVale McGee and Shannon Brown, among others were turned down from the VIP by Mr. Carter (Jay-Z).

“So all the athletes were clamoring to talk to Jay-Z in his private section, even Melo, but because of the lockout, Jay had to turn them all down. He refused to let any of them thru, and also warned his security to watch out because of his NBA ownership, he wasn’t allowed to fraternize with them,” said our source.

Smart move Jay, now just don't go out giving ridiculous contracts to overrated players.
